SKYNEA AR Glasses Enter Fashion
SKYNEA AR glasses just walked a runway before they ever reached a keynote stage. At The Blonds’ 20th anniversary show during New York Fashion Week, the new brand sent three custom pairs down the catwalk, styled to the looks instead of bolted onto them. That is the signal. The wearable is no longer asking to be tolerated. It is asking to be styled.

SKYNEA AR Glasses on The Blonds Runway: What Happened
The Blonds marked 20 years with a Spring/Summer 2027 show on September 14, 2026 at Lavan Midtown. More than 50 archival looks were reworked, and the house codes stayed loud: diamonds, pearls, chains and spikes. The cast included Paris Hilton, Aquaria and Susanne Bartsch. Resident noted statement eyewear by Skynea as a futuristic layer next to custom Christian Louboutin footwear.
Why This AR Glasses Debut Is Not a Tech Launch
According to SKYNEA, three designs were made exclusively for the show and coordinated with looks by David and Phillipe Blond. Motorola razr, Christian Louboutin and Commando were named as additional sponsors.
Pick the stage and you pick the story. A crystal-and-spectacle runway tells you SKYNEA wants its AR glasses read as an accessory first and a device second.
In the official images, the runway pairs read as statement frames in white, black and gold. The display is not visible in them, so the specs below come from SKYNEA, not from the photos.

Who Was in the Room for the AR Glasses Debut
The runway cast, per SKYNEA’s release, included Paris Hilton, Aquaria, Gigi Gorgeous, Dominique Jackson, Emira D’Spain, Susanne Bartsch, Brooklyn Van Zandt, Aqua and Lion Babe. Resident adds Nicky Hilton Rothschild, French Montana, Ellen von Unwerth and Leigh Lezark in the front row.
Nightlife royalty, pop culture and fashion in one room. That is the audience SKYNEA chose for its first look, though no source says any guest wore or endorsed the glasses.

AR Glasses Translation: The Feature to Watch
This is the one I would watch. The wearer picks a language, then talks naturally with someone speaking it. Their words appear along the bottom of the lenses as they speak, so no one glances down at a phone.
For a studio that follows Seoul, Tokyo, Paris and the Gulf, that is a travel-and-culture feature as much as a tech one.

SKYNEA says rings, brooches and bracelets are coming, each able to talk to the glasses and control certain functions. The idea is a full look in which the jewelry and the AR glasses work as one system.
Its official site already lists a smart ring line and a bracelet collection alongside the glasses. Wearables are being designed as jewelry, not as gadgets with a style option.
AR Glasses Market Signal: The Numbers Behind the Moment
AR Glasses Growth vs. the Display-Less Majority
- Counterpoint Research: global AI glasses shipments rose 263% year over year in H1 2026. Display-less models were 96% of shipments, and Meta held 94% of that segment.
- Counterpoint: shipments of AR glasses (with a display) rose 449%, from a small base.
- IDC: display eyewear rose 86% in Q1 2026, and optical see-through display glasses are forecast to grow at roughly 41.9% a year through 2030. Meta held 69.2% of overall smart glasses shipments.
Read it plainly. Glasses people buy today mostly have no display. AR glasses with one is the fastest-growing slice and still a very small one.
AR Glasses and the Fashion Gap
The big platforms are borrowing taste from eyewear houses. A projection report says Samsung and Google are working with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster on frames. SKYNEA went straight to a runway.
The Studio’s read: with display glasses still niche, style is the open lane. That is why a fashion-first debut matters more than the spec sheet.
SKYNEA AR Glasses Reality Check: What Is Still Unproven
- Source: the announcement is a paid press release. One distributor states it has not independently verified the claims, and no independent hands-on review has surfaced yet.
- Availability: a Kickstarter is planned “soon.” The site offers pre-launch sign-up, and I found no price or ship date.
- Mixed messaging: the release pitches everyday wear, while the site’s description calls the product not for daily wear and reserved for extraordinary moments. The site also labels the glasses SKYEAGLE V1 in its menu and SKYNEA V1 on the homepage.
- Field of view: 26 degrees reads like a heads-up readout, not a full overlay. That is my interpretation, not a tested finding.

AR Glasses Signal Strength: Early
This is a positioning signal, not an adoption signal. A new brand chose fashion over a tech stage, and the market data shows why that lane is open. Nobody has yet shown that people will wear these.
